Offering a variety of handcrafted items including signs, embroidery, jewelry and apparel, Mythical Toadstools is a pop-up booth that travels to renaissance fairs across North Carolina. In the Spring of 2024 I worked with Mythical Toadstools to create a brand identity that showcases their passion to transport their patrons to a world of fairy tales.

We worked to incorporate their mascot, the fairy toad, and the business’ namesake of the toadstool mushroom in the logo. Taking inspiration from the style of medieval illustrations and printing techniques, I used a hatching shading technique, imperfect lines and added a tattered banner to hold the text. Instead of using a digital typeface, I chose to free-write the text to maintain the handmade impression.
