This project included illustration of the album cover, a promotional video for Instagram and a lyric video for Youtube.

As this single was going to be in the later-released album that also included Rat Race, I continued the hand-drawn art and lettering style. The song itself was the muse for the design, with focus on the opening lyric “There’s a lit cigarette burning on the couch…” and the party atmosphere in which the song takes place.

Among the spilled, empty and abandoned array of drinks, a party hat can also be seen on the ground. This is a reference to the art on Great Grandpa’s album Plastic Cough, which Through The Tallwoods claims as one of their biggest influences.

To promote the release of the single, Through The Tallwoods asked me to create a short video to post to Instagram. Using Adobe AfterEffects, I imported the song and converted the audio to keyframes that could then be used to move the graphics in beat with the music.
